Sharon Mercado Nogales

Sharon Mercado Nogales dancer/choreographer from the Bolivian Andes based between Berlin and La Paz. In her work she incorporates autobiographical material that goes through an exercise of memory by putting the knowledge of her ancestors and her current life experience as conditions to rethink them with the aim of creating body practices and performances that can move bodies and feelings. I’m constantly seeking to provoke the current cultural spectrum through the body, working with the resignification of my materialities.

TECHNOCUMBIA is a dance practice, drawing inspiration from the 90's dance competition "Sábados Populares" in Bolivia, blending the rhythm of Techno and Cumbia. This practice combines movements of the High Energy and Euro-classics of the 80's that migrated to South America with movements of the Andean cumbia. The workshop begins with a rhythmic exploration of the space, incorporating footwork combinations that establish a connection with the ground through repetition. As the class progresses, the combinations of Cumbia and Techno steps intensify the energy throughout the class, building stamina and body awareness. Finishing with small choreographies involving the material we have learned. Please bring comfortable clothes and sport shoes. 6:30pm>8pm PRICE : 12€
