Gincubator

The INCUBATOR (Garage29 INcubator) is a residency program for research and/or creation for emerging artists. The aim is to give them 2-4 weeks per season to explore the beginnings of their stage proposal. GIN is interested inby the the start of the artistic project in their various forms, and supports them by organising meetings with other artists, performing arts professionals, playwrights and audiences.

In a broader sense, GIN's mission is to develop the conditions for research and to support the emergence of moving/choregraphic ideas by challenging the traditional framework of artistic residency. As a result, after its first years of existence, during which various forms were tested, Garage29 offers hybrid formulas of writing residencies, workshop residencies, co-residencies, host residencies, technical residencies or open residencies with public These different formulas enable the artists selected each season to explore three main issues in their work: their relationship to the dramaturgy, to the space and to the audience.

Applications open each year in February and close at the end of March. The eligibility criteria are that you must be a Belgian resident and have created less than 3 choreographic works. While we wait for applications to open, we invite you to put together your application by taking a look at the different residency formulas and thinking about which ones seem most appropriate for your creation.
