Aymara Parola + Lea Petra + Reinaldo Ribeiro – GINCUBATOR 2023-2024

Aymara Parola (AR/BE)

Aymara studied traditional Argentine folkloric dance, ballet and contemporary dance. Since 2011 she has been performing with the company Ultima Vez/Wim Vandekeybus in different productions. She have collaborated with other artists such a Ayelen Parolin (2017), music maker Ariah Lester (2019), Alexander Vantournhout (2021), presenting the work in different festivals and venues. Aymará is currently, active in the field of dance and  performance, as well through multiple roles as an outside-eye-couching for circus companies, collaboration within the visual arts, photography and films.

Lea Petra (AR/BE)

Lea studied music at the Conservatory in Buenos Aires, where she obtained her first prize in piano and her master’s degree as a teacher. Since then she has presented herself in the world of classical music and in 1999 after meeting pianist Martha Argerich, she traveled to Brussels where she developed her interest in composition, improvisation and the performing arts. Lea Petra has composed music for various contemporary dance shows, theater, circus, performance and instrumental music in collaboration with the creators: Cie Ayelen Parolin, Cie ZOO Thomas Hauert, Ivo Dimchev, Cie Cincocentrique among others.

Reinaldo Ribeiro (BR/ES)

Reinaldo’s work moves between the fields of choreography and the scenics arts. He explores what he defines as 4P concept: the relationship between the political, poetic, personal and pathetic. He has a special interest in an expanded scene and in practices and projects that activate decolonial perspectives. He is co-founder of the collective Lamajara (Barcelona) and co-director between 2013 and 2020. He collaborates as a performer with the choreographer Alexander Georgiev (Bulgaria) and with United Cowboys (Holland). He is an associate artist at Art House (Eindhoven). In his last studies 2019/2020 he did a Master in Scenic Practices and Visual Culture at the UCLM and the Reina Sofia Museum (Madrid).

Aymara, Lea and Reinaldo chose to start their process in the GIN 23/24, inviting the dramaturg Elke Van Campenhout to enlighten them on their challenging composition between Lea’s piano, Aymara’s moving body and Reinaldo performance direction.
