10&11.03.17/BRUSSELS DANCE@GARAGE29
This Kind Of Bird Flies Backwards, scutinize the moments when we feel most alive based on Natalia’s experiance or the stories of others. This focus takes shapes when Natalia meets Colin H. van Eeckhout (AMENRA, CHVE, Kingdom). The choice of working with Colin, who strongly represents the Belgian post-metal scene, represents the conviction and feeling that this kind of music speaks for the intensity of certain experiences, that are often hard to describe with mere words. Using her body, Natalia constructs her language and confronts a question: “How do we live the moments of extreme happiness and sadness? Are these moments of sharing or moments of loneliness?”
Aimed at both the black box and the side specific events, a twenty minutes version, constantly evolving, has been presented several times since 2015 and it’s first appearance at OFFestival. Already performed in a forest, somewhere in Switzerland ; at the Copacabana music festival in Gent 2016 ; between the dunes of Raversyde ; WILD CARDS in Bucharest ; or Gent Bougement and soon in San Sebastian as part of European Capital Of Culture 2016, This Kind of Bird Flies Backwards is to be avant-premiered in Garage29 on a full evening version with the live music performance of Colin H. van Eeckhout, Mathieu Vandekerckhove and BjØrn Lescouhier. The piece will feature live Amenra, Kingdom, CHVE and Syndrome music.
Created & performed by Natalia Pieczuro in collaboration with Colin H. van Eeckhout, Mathieu Vandekerckhove, BjØrn Lescouhier / Amenra, Kingdom, CHVE and Syndrome music ; lights by Florence Richard ; costumes by Aline Breucker ; stage design by Aline Breucker, Natalia Pieczuro.
