Collaborations

PA.PO

In 2024, Garage29 set up two ‘PA.PO’ (Papote/Popote) sessions a year, in collaboration with the support office AdLib.Anna Giolo, founder and director of the structure, and Timo Steffens, in charge of support and project development, come share their expertise with the GIN artists. The day's training will cover topics specific to emerging artists, such as : "How to produce", "How to find partnerships", "How to find programmers". These are all steps that artists are often faced with on their own. This is also an opportunity for artists to get together and share their professional experiences.

Residences in resident's homes

In the frame of the GINcubatorG29 wants to encourage artists to open up their thinking, from the very beginnings of their project, to the viewer's point of view by offering new spaces that stimulate exchange and creativity.

In this case, a collaboration with Culturals Centers of la Vénérie andIttreinvites residents of Brussels and Wallonia to offer their unusual private spaces - living rooms, back houses, gardens, sheds, garages, verandas, attics - as real-life backdrops for the artists to use, entering into a dialogue with the residents.

Co-residency

Once a season, a Brussels cultural venue hosts a multi-disciplinary co-residency. Since 2022, LaVallée welcomes the artistic cohabitation between a choreographer supported by G29 and a visual artist.

Le OFF dans le IN (you can't translate it)

Since 2020, an artist from the GINcubator has been part of the D festival programme in collaboration with the Théâtre Marni, presenting a work in progress.

An exchanged views on emerging artists

Many creative venues in Brussels have positively responded to the desire to accompany the first projects supported by the G29 and to act jointly during the various stages of creation - which we follow right from the embryo!

Artist exchanges

The Théâtre de la Vie and theAtelier 210 choose an emerging artist programmed for a first or second project incubated at the G29 the previous season. This time, this space to gain confidence, this dramaturgical deepening or running-in are worked on before the Première in this partner theatre. For the GINcubator, these collaborations represent an opening onto other visions and practices of dance and movement.

Building openness beyond borders

As part of a shared desire to expand the network of exchanges and visibility for the young artistic scene, discussions are underway with Danse Densea French platform for the identification, visibility and support of emerging choreographers. There will also be an artist exchange with the Swiss production company Oh la la in 2024.

Collaboration with the workspacebrussels

G29 joins forces with workspacebrussels to support 2 artists. This programme offers several periods of residency over the course of the 2024-2025 season, giving them the opportunity to develop their projects. Throughout their time with us, they will have the opportunity to present stages of their work at one of our respective public events: Lundynamite, OFFestival or Open Studios.

Collaborative events

In 2023, the Théâtre de la Vie, the Halles de Schaerbeek and the Garage29 launch the evenings Lundynamite.
A brand new series of events, every first Monday evening of the month. So you can fill up on new and adventurous artistic experiences and leave Monday blues at home. In 2024, the BAMP join us to expand the field of possibilities!
